Siskel & Ebert: If We Picked The Winners (March 24, 1990)

Siskel & Ebert's Oscar Special. Shot live-to-tape in front of a live audience March 1, 1990 in the Theatre of the Stars at the Disney/MGM Studios, FL. It aired March 24, 1990, two days before the 62nd Annual Academy Awards. In this show, Gene and Roger don't predict the winners, but rather give their opinions on who SHOULD win if they had anything to say about it. Some classic Siskel & Ebert sparring here. I was at this taping. My friend and I sat in the front row holding up a "Do The Right Thing" poster. They did a bit before each commercial break called "If The Audience Picked The Winners". I'm in a couple of those. I say "Jessica Tandy. Jessica Tandy." and "Field of Dreams.". It was a fun night. I met Roger and Gene afterwards. I got a picture with them both and Roger signed his latest book for me.

Transferred from my original VHS tape, which unfortunately ran out and I missed the last two minutes of the telecast.
