In this video, we explain that one of the side effects you might get after radiotherapy to the head and neck is a sore mouth. Side effects tend to come on gradually as you go through your treatment and for a few weeks afterwards. Some people may only have mild side effects from radiotherapy but for others the side effects can be more severe. Other side effects from radiotherapy to the head and neck include a dry mouth, taste changes, weight loss, dental problems, changes to your voice and hair loss.
