This is made from RICE?! 😳🇲🇽 Brits try Mexican Horchata for the first time… and we were NOT ready for this…

We genuinely didn’t know what to expect going into this one… a drink made from rice?! But Mexican Horchata is one of the most loved drinks across Mexico and the US — and after trying it… we finally understand why.

In today’s video, we’re making authentic Mexican Horchata from scratch using a traditional method — soaking rice, blending it with cinnamon, and turning it into a creamy, refreshing drink that’s often served with tacos, street food, and spicy dishes.

And the result completely surprised us…

From the first sip, this tasted like something totally different to what we expected — smooth, sweet, refreshing, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Almost like a drinkable dessert!

A massive thank you to Aaron in North Carolina for sending us the ingredients and recipe — this one might just be one of our favourite drinks we’ve ever tried.

Horchata is a traditional Mexican drink made from rice, cinnamon, sugar, and milk. It’s served ice cold and is known for being incredibly refreshing — especially alongside spicy foods. While it has roots in Spain, Mexico has made it its own with this iconic version.
