In this tutorial video you'll see 5 examples where we used materials that normally everyone has in his household. This varies from equipment such as carton, stockings and even sunglasses to give us that creative shot.

In this tutorial we explained how you can create a macro lens by detaching it and putting some distance between it and the body. We closed gap between the lens and body with a carton tube to prevent light leaks. But like we mentioned in the video, it's also possible to buy an extension to close the gap between you lens and body. These aren't that expensive and are somewhat safer. This macro technique is based on the principal of Lens Whacking, also called free lensing. This is a method of shooting with the lens detached from the camera body. It allows light to leak in and create those popular light leaks. But it also creates a tilt shift focus effect, an effect with a narrow the depth of field. This means only a small part of the frame will be in focus and the rest blurry. All these factors together creates a dreamlike, vintage quality to your footage.

After making these shots, they don't need any adjustments in post production. You can always do a color correction/grading, like your normally do or some more details adjusting. But the effect created by the hack will be perfect, like you wanted.

With these hacks we are giving new functionalities to the lens, like macro, custom bokeh, anamorphic effects and so on.
