Manchester Academy 2 is a great venue where I've seen TMBG perform 5 times (plus twice in the neighbouring Academy 3). But in 2001 the show was blighted by the theft of Linnell's saxophone from backstage, and the next time they played there had a distinctly weird vibe with very little banter and a moment where Flans ordered the house lights be turned up and he just kinda stared out for a while...

Anyway, at this show in 2016, they had clearly made their peace with the place, as this piece of banter about the 'ghost of Manchester Academy past' shows.
