From fashionistas to collectors, there’s a broad market for a clothing business—and that makes it a great industry for aspiring entrepreneurs. In this interview with Throwbacks NW, owner Rio Estolas shares his advice for starting a clothing brand that lasts.

Rio grew up watching his dad sell antiques, imbuing him with an entrepreneurial spirit. He started collecting and selling vintage sportswear in 2006, taking over Throwbacks NW two years later. In the 12 years since, the store saw substantial growth in both its revenue and popularity, allowing Rio to expand his business by starting a clothing brand.
