HELIX SETUP | Part 1: Basics, Amp, IR, Effects | Step-By-Step Guide For PERFECT TONES

- In part one of this video series, I walk through setting up a Line 6 Helix Floor from scratch. This video will be perfect for anyone new to Helix or anyone who wants to learn more and start making their own presets/patches.

First, I set up my input settings, making sure to use the input gate and adjust the input pad as needed. Next, I discuss a few different options for the primary amp sound including: Amp+Cab, Amp and Cab separately, and finally, Amp and an IR. Once your fundamental amp sound is set, I like to move on to compression (as needed), my favorite is the "Ampeg Opto Comp". After that, I try some of my favorite overdrive and distortion blocks and give some ideas on how to set it up based on your tone preferences.
