Scan any page for ARIA accessibility issues — aria-reach Chrome extension demo

aria-reach is a free, open-source Chrome extension that scans any page for ARIA accessibility anti-patterns — and identifies the likely component library that shipped each one (PrimeNG, Angular Material, Quill, Video.js, USWDS, MUI, Ant Design). It ranks findings by downstream reach, so you fix the issues affecting the most assistive-technology users first — once, upstream in the library, instead of patching every app.

In this 30-second demo, aria-reach scans the PrimeNG site, flags 23 ARIA findings across its anti-pattern taxonomy, attributes them to PrimeNG/PrimeFaces, and pins one on the page with remediation guidance.

What it does:
• Static + runtime detection across four ARIA anti-pattern classes (decorative noise, live-region urgency, widget role contracts, async state)
• Likely-component-library attribution from DOM fingerprints (heuristic; confirm manually)
• Hover to highlight, click to pin a finding on the page, "Highlight all" for a full-page overlay
• Aids WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 review — does not certify compliance or replace manual screen-reader testing
• Runs entirely locally — no page content or user data is collected or transmitted
