Dell Inspiron 17 5770 SSD Upgrade Guide 8th Gen Intel i7 AMD Radeon 530 | Step By Step

A detailed video looking at how to remove the base of a Dell Inspiron 5000 Series in order to upgrade the hard drive (HDD) to a solid state drive (SSD).

Goal: To increase the brand new DELL's speed and longevity.

We used a brand new Samsung Evo 860 V-NAND MLC 500GB solid state drive with a SATA connector. (Link below) MZ-76E500B/AM

EVO 860 500GB SATA 6.0Gb/s Speeds:
550MB/s read
520MB/s write

Here we perform an upgrade on this 17" Dell Inspiron 5000 Series 5770 Laptop. The change made will be from its internal 2TB 5400RPM Seagate HDD to the EVO 860.

I took this one step further and performed a "clone" of the DELL factory installed HDD with its DELL OS Factory Image installed to the Samsung EVO860 SSD. I used "Acronis 2015 Boot CD" for this operation.
*Note* Acronis 2016, 2017, & 2018 all seem NOT TO CLONE all metadata successfully (such as HD audio sound drivers on some chipsets)
Again only use "Acronis 2015" for your bootable cloning environment at this moment. (Macrium reflect works fine as well)

Required parts:

-SSD of your choice (SATA Connector, 6.0Gb/s, V-NAND MLC or TLC)

-Medium/Small screwdriver, “+” cross (Philips)

-OPTIONAL (For completing a Cloning) Use external HDD enclosure [SATA] or SATA Adapter Cable [USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, or type C]

P.S. *EDIT* This is a Dell 5000 Series, not a 7000 Series like I said at the beginning of video, but they are all pretty similar.
