ENGLISH SYNOPSIS:
The tropical rainforest is one of the oldest and richest natural habitats of the world. Although it covers only about 6% of the Earth, it is home of more than half of its animal and plant species. Unfortunately human greed and stupidity are extremely jeopardising the life of the rainforest and its animals. As of today the deforestation reaches an area of 200 000 square-kilometres per year, equals the double of the size of Hungary. The result is that Amazonian rainforests have lost 25% of their original territory by this year. Our short movie gives you a tiny insight into the life of the forests around the Amazon river system and shows a bit how fragile our world really is. If we do not act quickly, tropical rainforests are going to lose up to 55% of their size by 2030.
