3 Reasons Why Your Makeup Looks Cakey 🫠

Cake face is something we’ve all experienced before. Here are a few reasons why this could be happening to you:
1. You didn’t prep your skin properly. I’m personally not a fan of primers for “longevity”. It makes zero sense to use when foundation formulas today are already made to last. A lot have wild claims 12, 16, and 24 hour wear time! Not to mention if you don’t understand the ingredients of your primer/foundation then you’re in for a makeup meltdown disaster. I personally feel primers for longevity purposes are a marketing scheme 🤷🏾‍♀️ but what’s not…SKIN PREP. Using a primer alone just isn’t enough. You need to make sure the skin is cleansed properly and hydrated. That goes for us oily skin girls too 👏🏾 If you have dry skin PLEASEEEEEEE exfoliate. The foundation will grab any dry patches and instantly give you cake face. (Pro tip: shave that peach fuzz. I promise it will leave your skin looking glowy and the foundation application will be much smoother).
2. You’re using the wrong formulation for your skin type. I see this a lot. Dry skin with matte full coverage foundation never looks good 😵‍💫😵‍💫 It will make you look a million years old and your skin will look dull and lack luster. That’s never the vibe we are going for.
3. Way tooooo much product. Heavy foundation set with heavy powder will look thicker than protein powder in a shaker bottle that doesn’t have enough liquid in it 🫠
