Builder's Shocking Sod Install: Is THIS What We're Supposed to Expect?

Century Communities is a self proclaimed ‘top 10 US builder’. Then how do they explain this?

A potential client called me to quote regular lawn mowing on their new construction home. It is in a neighborhood that was a failed development (meaning a home builder bought and cleared all the land, but they only built on and sold a portion of the available lots before going bankrupt) recently bought by Century Communities (https://www.centurycommunities.com/).

The sod install was so poorly done I called the client and told them in no uncertain terms they needed to pursue remedy through their homeowner's warranty (generally, new homes come with a one or two year warranty to cover defects in construction). The client informed me she had ALREADY brought the sod to the builders attention.

You know what they told her? That it was normal and all the lawns were like that. I couldn't have been madder if it happened to me personally.

I sincerely hope Century Communities pays close attention to not only this video but who they are outsourcing their landscaping to for the Heritage Oaks community in Macclenny, Florida. I also think common decency and respect would lead them to remedy the situation (and any other similarly installed lawns) by removing this terribly installed sod, correctly prepping the ground, and installing fresh new sod as best practices dictate.
