Fiat Dino Spyder - A Ferrari powered Fiat

The Fiat Dino was created because Ferrari needed to Homologate their newly developed V6 racing engine, designed for the Ferrari 206SP. The Dino name refers to the fact the engine comes from Ferrari's Dino V6 engine, they were produced by Fiat and used to achieve the production numbers needed so Ferrari could homologate the engine for it to be eligible for Formula 2 racing.

Ferrari used the engine in the Dino 206 GT and the 246 GT/S street cars. They were Enzo Ferrari’s tribute to his late son, Dino, who helped design the engines. The homologated engine was used by Fiat in a new, sporty front engined Fiat model that also carried the Dino name.

The early Fiat Dino had 2.0-liter alloy blocks, while later cars had the 2.4-liter steel block, both had a 5 speed manual transmission. for a small 2.0 litre V6 the perfomance was amazing., The Fiat Dino spyder is capable of 0–60 mph in 7 seconds and a top speed of 130MPH. The Fiat Dino was offered as a coupe or a spider, designed by both Bertone and Pininfarina, respectively. Fiat produced the Dino from 1966 to 1973, during which time 7,803 examples were produced. with only 420 of them being spyders.
