About the Photographer
Laurence Salzmann says that The Yucatan peninsula always had a fascination Laurence Salzmann At age 17 on his first visit there he was impressed by the cenotes found there and became an aficiando of Horchata Yucateca. On his most visit to the Yucatan he photographed the deteriorating painted plaster walls of the Convent de San Bernardino de Siena in Valladolid. These photographs compliment recent works where in abstract forms he imagines other worldy creatures. Can the past speak to the present?
