In this video I go over the 3.5 inch Traxda lift kit for the Honda Passport / Ridgeline / Pilot. Some common misconceptions are addressed in this video:
- That 3.5" lift kit will "KILL" my axles
- The lift will make my AWD mid-sized Honda handle poorly
- Because of the subframe drop, there will be no real gain in ground clearance
Yeah, so I'm glad to report that all the above are false! Coming from a Subaru background and having my personal 2015 Subaru Forester lifted, and seeing guys like FozRoamer lift his SH Subaru Forester 4 inches, I had a lot of insight about what to expect from the Traxda lift. With the Subframe drop, the axles actually sit at a healthier angle compared to the 2 inch lift. Because the mid sized Hondas have a wide 79 inch wheel base width, increased height doesn't affect it as much. Also, the iVTM4 system has yaw control on the rear differential, which helps it rotate through big turns. Also... lets be honest, the mid sized Hondas are large and heavy for their size. They weigh in between 4200-4500 lbs.... agility and nimbleness is not a strength here! These big Hondas are comfortable and stable, but mash on the gas pedal and the nose is pointing up! So... unlike a Subaru with a lower center of gravity and car like handling, a heavy midsized Honda SUV has less to lose in the handling department. These Hondas do not share the same platform as their cars.
