This holiday of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the love and support that my family has provided for me. I am thankful for the guidance to learn and grow as an individual to be strong and thrive. I am very fortunate to share my background of soul food as an introduction of what I eat back at home in the Southern U.S. I think it is important we learn both of each other backgrounds as a way to understand culture. Soul food is very commonly eaten on holidays so this Thanksgiving, I am leaving up to Kyungho, my husband, to teach his mother how to cook and make soul food as a small challenge to start off the holidays. Of course I will be helping as well but this is more as an experiment to start something new to the family as a way of showing my culture too.
