HOW TO LIGHT AN RV OVEN | Pete's RV Quick Tips

Expert, Randy Murray provides a step-by-step overview on how to light an RV oven.

As Randy explains, in preparation for lighting the oven, you must first turn the oven knob to the "pilot" position. Once in that position, you push in the knob (holding it for 5-10 seconds to allow gas to pass through) as you light the pilot within the oven (as seen by Randy).

After lighting the pilot light and while still holding in the knob (after the 5-10 seconds have passed), you then can release the knob while turning it to the desired temperature. Congratulations, you're ready to start cooking!

Side note: Randy mentions that unless you're prepared to use the oven on multiple occasions during any camping trip, it's best to turn off the oven and save gas that the pilot staying lit will use. This will ensure plenty of propane left in the tanks for all other camping needs.
