Palette Rant! Melt Cosmetics Mary Jane Palette Review!

Alright all y'all and welcome to a review that I was actually super excited to do. As I am sure the majority of y'all have realized that reviewing products has not been a huge thing on my channel recently because as I've moved forward I have come to realize that a lot of the makeup that YouTube makes us think we need, I actually don't. So as such as I have been a lot more particular about those things that I want to add into my collection and subsequently review for y'all. Also, at this point in my life I have significantly less free money to simply burn on makeup, especially when I already have so much. But I do love reviewing things, hence why we are here today.

And I was beyond excited to get to review this because I had decided between this palette and the Kaleidos Club Nebula one that I would get the Club Nebula instead of the Mary Jane one. But through a gift card and 20% off I was able to 'buy' the Mary Jane as well, A part of me wishes I hadn't because this particular palette has got to be the most disappointing one I have purchased this year so far. There are so many frustrating inconsistencies within this thing that it makes me want to tear my hair out. The mattes, of which there are four, are absolutely fantastic. I really love them and wish there were more in the eyeshadow lineup. However, instead what we have are a confused collection of six shimmers that do not really know what to do with themselves.

Each one brings its own unique problem to the table and for the life of me I cannot seem to get them to 'work' with my level of expertise. Perhaps these are some sort of new formula that requires a very specific method of application, but I am not here for that. If you are a company that is charging a premium for their products, I need them to provide me with quality, which was severely lacking with this release. I simply cannot advocate for a palette that is so terribly inconsistent and I am a frustrated consumer who feels like within the makeup market right now there is very little that is guaranteed when it comes to spending my money.

I adore Melt Cosmetics, but their consistent inconsistency has become very tiring and I am not sure how much more of it I can take. But, as for this palette, even though the mattes are wonderful and two of the shimmers are workable, I just cannot advocate for it and say it is worth buying, because I do not believe it really is. The inconsistency is simply too damning. Bring me this color story in an all matte palette with the same formula then I would be a happy camper. But not right now.
