We're buying another Airstream! A bigger one! 28 foot to be precise. With two axles and solar panels, and about a dozen other RV features that we have zero experience with.
So we're doing our homework.
And we're starting to feel very well-informed,
but not at all confident.
Because you cannot "infocrack" your way to confidence.
At some point, we have to pull into the Airstream dealership and pick up our trailer. We'll have help hitching it up to our new truck, but then we have to physically drive it off the lot.
All 28 feet of her.
And while we're really excited, we're also really nervous about all of the mistakes we're inevitably going to make.
No matter how much studying we do ahead of time, we're going to be unconfident newbies.
After some practice we know and trust that we'll build some competence and then eventually feel like we've earned our confidence again.
That's how it works.
No matter what the new thing is that you're trying to master...
you have to take action BEFORE you become confident.
