Lava Falls Flip

Lava Falls is one of the biggest rapids on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. While we scouted the rapids from high on the north side, three rowing rigs ran the rapids below us. The first one made it easily to the left of the big hole (but was not filmed). The second raft plowed straight into the hole, ejecting passengers and gear, and churning for the better part of a minute, while the third raft also made it to the left. All river runners on the ill fated raft made it through and recovered their raft downstream.
