Kliment Voroshilov (23 January [4 February] 1881, the village of Superior, Ekaterinoslav province (now the city of Lisichansk Lugansk region) - 2 December 1969, Moscow) - Russian revolutionary and Soviet military leader, statesman and party activist, a member of the Civil War, one of the first Marshals of the Soviet Union.

Since 1925, the People's Commissar for Military and Naval Affairs, in 1934-1940 years of the People's Commissar of Defence. In the years 1953-1960 - Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Twice Hero of the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor. Member of the Party Central Committee in 1921-1961 and 1966-1969, respectively. Member of the Organising Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) (1924-1926). Member of the Politburo of the CPSU (b) (1926-1952), member of the Presidium of the CPSU Central Committee (1952-1960).

Voroshilov holds the record for the length of stay in the Politburo of the CPSU (b) (the Central Committee of the Communist Party), the Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPSU (34.5 years).
