The Book of Job Has a Structure That Changes Everything About Suffering

You have probably been told that the book of Job is about patience.

It is not.

Job is furious. He argues with God for thirty-five chapters. He demands
a trial. He accuses heaven of injustice. And at the end of the book,
God looks at Job — the man who raged and refused easy answers — and
says he spoke what is right.

Then God turns to the three friends, the ones who showed up with all
the correct theological explanations, and tells them they were wrong.

The sufferer is vindicated. The theologians are rebuked.

In this video we go deep into the literary architecture of Job — the
prose frame, the three cycles of speeches, the mysterious appearance
of Elihu, and the whirlwind — to show you what this book is actually
doing and why it changes everything about how we think about suffering,
lament, and honest faith.

What you will discover in this video:

→ Why the book of Job is NOT about patience — and what it is really about
→ The prose-poetry-prose structure and why it is the argument of the book
→ Who Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar really represent — and why God
rebuked all three of them
→ The Hebrew word ha-satan and what it actually means in the Old Testament
→ Why Job is filing a legal brief against God — not just venting
→ What the whirlwind speech is really saying — and why God never
answers Job's question
→ Why Job's honest wrestling was called righteous and the friends'
correct theology was called wrong
→ What lament is, why the church has largely lost it, and why
Scripture is full of it
→ What the book of Job gives suffering people that no explanation ever could

God does not always explain. But God does show up.
And in the book of Job, the showing up is the answer.
If this reached something you did not have words for, share it with
someone who is in the middle of something that makes no sense. That
is exactly who this book was written for.

surface. New video every week.
