Welcome to Catholic Daily. Today is Saturday, April 25, 2026, and we celebrate the Feast of Saint Mark. Mark was a companion of St. Peter and the author of the earliest Gospel. Today’s readings remind us that while we are called to humility and watchfulness against the "roaring lion" of the enemy, we are also commissioned with authority to spread the Good News of the Risen Christ.

📜 Today’s Holy Scripture
First Reading: 1 Peter 5:5b-14
St. Peter calls us to "clothe yourselves with humility" and to stay sober and vigilant because the "devouring lion" (the devil) is prowling. He mentions Mark, calling him "my son," highlighting their close relationship in the early Church.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 89
"For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord."

Gospel Reading: Mark 16:15-20
The conclusion of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus appears to the Eleven and gives the Great Commission: "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature." He promises that signs will accompany those who believe, and then He is taken up into heaven to sit at the right hand of God.
