Will Tomorrow Be Better? - Professor Dan Gilbert
The fifth Israeli Presidential Conference:
Even though our Sages teach us: "Who is rich? He who is satisfied with their lot," (Pirkei Avos 4:1) it sometimes seems that there is no limit to the human appetite. We want more of everything: higher income, better health, longer lives, better leadership, more stimulating social lives and, of course, more perfect happiness. To what extent will tomorrow fulfill our dreams? And if it does, would making our dreams come true bring with it negative consequences and dangers for which we need to prepare?
