WATCH: Amy Coney Barrett says 'racism persists in our country'

Asked by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., whether she had watched the video of a Minneapolis police officer killing George Floyd, Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett said she had, and that "racism persists in our country." Barrett said, "given that I have two black children, that was very, very personal for my family...My children, to this point in their lives, have had the benefit of growing up in a cocoon where they have not yet experienced hatred or violence." Barrett has two Black children, adopted from Haiti. She said she and her 17-year-old daughter Vivian "wept together."
