Kotoka International airport has been recognised as the "Best Airport in Africa" (2-5 Million pax per annum) for both 2019 and 2020 by Airports Council International.

Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has been adjudged ‘Best Airport by Size and Region’ (2 – 5million passengers per year) and Most Improved in Africa by the Airports Council International (ACI). The award is in recognition of GACL’s effort in providing superior customer experience at KIA.

A release issued by ACI stated that the awards are in recognition of airports around the world that deliver the best customer experience in the opinion of their own passengers.
