BCCI Announced New Venue For IPL Matches

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has undergone significant developments recently, with the tournament set to resume on May 17 after a week-long suspension due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The final is now scheduled for June 3 .

🏏 Tournament Resumption
• Resumption Date: May 17, 2025
• Final Match: June 3, 2025
• Reason for Suspension: Geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan led to a temporary halt in the tournament .

🔄 New Replacement Rule
• The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a new rule allowing franchises to sign temporary replacement players for the remainder of the season.
• These replacements are not eligible for retention in the next season, ensuring fairness in the upcoming auctions .  

🌍 Overseas Player Availability
• Several overseas players have withdrawn from the tournament due to personal reasons or national commitments.
• Australian cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk has withdrawn, with Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman named as his replacement for Delhi Capitals .
• Chennai Super Kings’ Jamie Overton will miss the remainder of the IPL due to selection in England’s squad for the white-ball series against the West Indies starting May 29 .
