Epic-Cure Rescues 30,000 Pounds of Meat from Waste!

Epic-Cure received a massive donation of chicken. Unfortunately, none of it was safe for people to eat. But at Epic-Cure, we’re a zero-waste facility. That means we don’t take “trash” as an answer.

Instead, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work—contacting alligator farms, big cat rescues, and anyone who could safely use this resource. Some of it found homes, but most of it sat in our freezers while we searched for a solution.

Finally, we found one: a rendering facility that could turn it into useful products—animal feed, cooking fat, and even biofuel. So with the help of our incredible volunteers, after 7.5 hours of smelly, exhausting work, we loaded up two trucks and sent that meat on its way to a second life.

This is food rescue in action. This is climate action. This is why we do what we do.
