We got laid off ALL THREE jobs! | How we’re responding to the economic downturn

This week we found out that Kothney-Issa had been laid off from both her job as a server and her second job as a bartender. Both lay-offs are without pay. Also, Marek’s company decided to shut down for at least the next two weeks, but fortunately, he WILL be paid for at least the first two weeks of that.

In this video we’re discussing how we responded to learning about these changes and how we’re bouncing back!

1. We decided we had to stay calm!
2. We talked through all the scenarios and implications of the lay-offs
3. We re-visited (and tightened) our monthly budget
4. We evaluated ways we could keep cash flow (WITHOUT touching our emergency fund)
5. We took action in finding new temporary employment

►We met (and dated!) in the 7th Grade at Lincoln Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri in 2007. We got married in 2014 and are now coming up on 6 years of marriage!

#6 HOW MUCH DEBT DID YOU SAY YOU PAID OFF?
►In only 24 months, we paid off $125,000.00 worth of debt which included ALL credit cards, BOTH brand new cars, BOTH his and her degrees, and the TINY HOUSE itself!
