Day in the life of a Hutterite Baker

Join me in day baking bread for our community of over 100 people, it can be a lot of work because we need a lot of baked goods but, i also get a joy out of doing it, there is no place i would rather be then in our bakery measuring and mixing for a batch of bread, buns or dessert.

sourdough bread:
yeast mixture:
3 tbsp yeast
1.5 cups water
2 tbsp sugar

6 cups water
1 cup veggie oil
3 tbsp salt
2.5 tbsp sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sourdough starter
2 cups rye flour
2 cups white flour
add more if needed

sourdough starter 1:
1.5 cups sourdough
5 cups rye flour
3 cups water
1 tbsp sugar
mix and let ferment for 5 days. once fermented place in fridge and add 1tbsp sugar once a month

sourdough starter 2:
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/8 tsp yeast
this one is an overnight starter if you are in a bind, we have used it multiple times and t works wonderful.

toffee popcorn:
2 cups cream (35%)
2 cups syrup
1.5 cups margarine
1.5 cups brown sugar
cook until hard boil stage, pour over popcorn bake at 200 stirring every 15 mins until crispy
