On March 22, 2015, Armand Assante received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Garden State Film Festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After receiving the award from GSFF Executive Director Diane Raver, Assante said he was truly humbled by this honor and encouraged the support of the creative expression and artistic ideals of independent filmmakers. “JOE’S WAR,” an independent film directed by Phillip Falcone and written by John DeMeo & Phillip Falcone, starring Michael Markiewicz, Armand Assante, and Ed Asner, was screened at the festival. It chronicles the plight of our veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
