Maxus - Nobody's Business (1982)

Maxus was a West Coast-based band featuring singer Jay Gruska (who replaced Danny Hutton in Three Dog Night for the album, "American Pasttime") and four other studio musicians (similar to Toto). The result was their only album they ever recorded; the 1981 self-titled album on Warner Bros Records. The album, produced by Michael Omartian (who also produced albums for the Doobie Brothers and Donna Summer, among others), has a great West Coast coast AOR feel, not too heavy, not too soft.
Very melodic.

"Nobody's Business" is one of the singles from the album. The song never made the Billboard Hot 100 (but should have), settling for a peak position of #109 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. It didn't make the Cash Box Top 100 either, but did a little better, peaking at #101 on the Cash Box Looking Ahead chart.

If you are a fan of AOR, this is worthy of a listen.
