Residents turn to gold mining in Lami Nyeusi, West Pokot

Residents of Kambi Karaya in West Pokot County have for years on end practiced livestock farming but that has been abandoned of late as they embrace gold mining.
The switch is happening courtesy of incessant banditry attacks along the Turkana -West Pokot border, attacks that caused them sleepless nights.
As Maryanne Nyambura reports, the residents admit that their new economic mainstay could be a game changer as the area witnesses relative calm in recent days.
