Australasian Quilt Convention - Interview with Merelyn Pearce

Luana Rubin of eQuilter.com visits with award-winning quilt artist Merelyn Pearce about her inspiration for her series of graphic floral quilts - inspired by artist Margaret Preston. She was highly influential during the 1920s to 1940s for her Australian-themed modernist works as a painter and printmaker and for introducing Aboriginal motifs into contemporary art. Merelyn speaks about her design and construction process for this series of intricate quilt pieces. Merelyn had a retrospective exhibit of her work at the Australasian Quilt Convention in April 2012 in Melbourne, and her latest quilt "Preston Dreaming" also won the Best of the Best top prize.
