You are going to need some cotton string and some borax and salt for the first method. Lets do it. You will need to heat up some water just to before boil and add 1 cup water, 3 TBSP Borax and 1 TBSP Salt. Stir this until it is dissolved. Now you can add your precut wick strings to the solution and let sit 24 hours. Now take them out and wipe off excess crystal formations. Let dry for 24 hours or dry with a hair dryer a few minutes. Now the wicks are ready. You can use them just like this or you can braid a few of them together for a little stronger burning wick. For the next method you take your borax treated wick and dip it in hot wax a few times for a wax coated wick. These also burn well. I will show you at the end of the video. For the wood candle wicks you can use balsam wood or a Popsicle stick if you cant find it. Soak the sticks in olive oil for 30 minutes. Longer the better. Olive oil gives a clean burn. Take them out and dry the extra oil off onto a paper towel till it does not leave oil marks. Now your wooden candle wicks are ready. Watch how they burn and decide which one you want to try.
