Chairmaker Ozan Demirtas. Teaser for the Northmen Guild's Chairmaking Course 2024

A short glimpse in the process of making a traditional stick chair by chairmaker Ozan Demirtas from St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Ozan will be a tutor at Northmen Guild's Chairmaking and Green Woodworking Course 2024 where he will teach this very traditional way of making chairs. This course will happen for the first time and you will be able to learn how to craft an exquisite and rare traditional stick chair. Similar to Welsh/Windsor stick chairs. There is also a reason and evidence to believe that the vikings invented the first stick chairs so it is an important part of our culture and history.
