MASSIVE BLUEGILLS CAUGHT ON FLY ROD!

In this edition of Gibbyvet Outdoors, I change gears and go back to my roots of fishing for panfish on farm ponds. Sometimes it is good to take a step back and do something that helped form your fishing appreciation as a kid. We all know that panfish like to eat anything and fight hard for their size. To make it more sporting, I chose to use my 4 weight fly rod and do a popper surface fly with a squirmy wormy suspended about 20 inches below it. They took both flies readily, which was fun. I even got a nice largemouth bass. These sunfish were quite large, making it an awesome evening. The length of the end of my rod to the upper cork is about 10.25 inches. I need to get better at identifying different hybrids of sunfish - I messed up pretty bad, ha! Thank you again for tuning in, I appreciate it. Next video up after this, MY FIRST TIME AT THE YELLOW BREECHES for WILD TROUT!!!!
