SHOCKING footage shows a military site in Hostomel left in ruins after Russian attacks.

On March 31, after weeks of intense fight, Russian troops were ordered to withdraw from the Hostomel Airport which was under severe attacks by the Russian army in the first days of the war.

On 24 February 2022, a few hours after President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a "Special military operation" in Ukraine, Russian air forces conducted airstrikes on Antonov Airport with the objective of capturing it.

The airport has strategic value as it is located less than 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) outside of the capital Kyiv, which would allow Russian troops to airlift more troops and heavier equipment to directly threaten the city
