Learn This Hip Improvisation Technique (Robert Glasper Style)

In this video, I show you a hip improvisation technique known as 'side stepping'.

It's a fantastic way to build up tension in a solo and the concept is really easy to understand - though it might take a fair amount of deliberate practice to incorporate into your playing.

I hear guys like Robert Glasper use this technique all the time, and I use an example from his recording of "So Beautiful" to explain the concept.

It provides a lovely chromatic sound with an 'outside' feel to it. A great way to take your solos to the next level!
