💈 A Relaxing Shave In Hair Craft Goro's Unique Cafe-Inspired Cozy Barbershop Oasis | Tokyo, Japan

It’s a pleasure to introduce Mr. Goro of Hair Craft Goro in Tokyo, Japan, for a relaxing traditional hot towel shave 💈 Goro, his nickname since youth, started barbering at the age of 16. He trained in men's and women's hair. At 20, Goro was promoted to store manager where he worked 8 years before opening his own barbershop on the outskirts of Tokyo in 1998.

The ideas for the interior of his shop were conceived over several years before evolving into its current form, but many ideas Goro started sketching out in the 90s. You can still see the resemblance of his drawings to the current shop interior.

Hair Craft Goro is a cozy homey barbershop, more like a cafe!

In the back of the barbershop, Goro has a kitchen area where, after filming, he made us the most delicious homemade pizza topped with his homemade balsamic vinegar 🍕 He makes awesome desserts too 😍

Baking started as a hobby for him around 10 years ago. Goro is really into organic healthy foods so likes to make his food from scratch. He enthusiastically showed us his organic flours from around the world :)

He is fond of herbs and spices and grows an urban herb garden in front of his shop. Arugula, mint, fennel, rosemary and strawberries growing in tubs, pots, and cracks in the sidewalk 🪴 Yes, he actually uses them in his cooking!

He enjoys making pizza and studied bread making from an English cookbook 📚 Heavily noted in Japanese.

Although, Goro says he doesn’t eat as much as he cooks! He loves seeing and hearing the reactions of people eating his dishes ❤️ His customers may arrive for a haircut, but leave fully fed and satisfied!
