Scripting an SAP Analytics Cloud Story: Methods of the Planning API

In this video, we walk through how to script a planning-enabled story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) using the core Planning API methods.

Using a workforce planning model, we show how user input flows from a table, through validation logic, and back into the planning model using scripting.

We cover the following SAP Analytics Cloud Planning API methods in detail:
- isEnabled() – Checks whether planning is active for the table and returns a Boolean value.
- setEnabled() – Enables or disables planning based on a Boolean argument.
- setUserInput() – Writes user-entered values to the selected data cell.
- submitData() – Submits updated planning values to the server and returns a Boolean indicating success.

Together, these Planning API methods form the foundation of scripted planning interactions in SAP Analytics Cloud.
