Chelsea to face JDT in pre season friendly at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium

English Premier League giants Chelsea will take on Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim in a blockbuster pre-season friendly at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Johor on Aug 11.

The fixture marks Chelsea's return to Malaysia for the first time since 2013, as part of their preparations for the 2026-2027 Premier League season under newly-appointed manager Xabi Alonso.

Founded in 1905, Chelsea are among the most decorated clubs in world football, having won six English league titles, two UEFA Champions League crowns, two UEFA Europa League titles and eight FA Cups.

For JDT, the match represents another significant milestone in the club's rise.

The Southern Tigers have dominated Malaysian football over the past decade, winning a record 12 consecutive Malaysia Super League titles in addition to multiple Malaysia Cup and FA Cup triumphs.
