Found a Cat-eyed Snake!

Also called the False Mapepire, the Cat-eyed Snake or Cat-eyed Night Snake, is one of the native snake species in Trinidadand Tobago. It is slender, brown in colour with dark blotches throughout the length of its body. This active little snake can grow to a length of about 100 cm. Its venom is harmless to humans but it used for hunting prey. This species is primarily a nocturnal hunter and its diet includes frogs, lizards, and toads. For this reason, it is a critial component of our local ecosystems, as it helps control wild animal populations. When disturbed, the Cat-eyed Snake can emit a foul odour.
