Why a new stove? Few reasons.
First reason - People from outside the EU ( mainly USA and Canada) were complaining on the gstove video I made about shipping and import costs. Fair enough right? We complain here in Europe about the same very thing.
Second reason - Valid complains that the spark arrestor and airflow damper pipe section are not included in the gstove. You have to buy that separately. You need both for an efficient burn, so it sucks you have to spend extra cash to get it. Ok, its only an extra 55 USD, so why not just include it in the first place?
The NOMAD comes with both included in the price.
Third - The NOMAD stove has a bigger area for cooking and even more important to me, almost double the size of the door and window the gstove has. Now that’s extra ambience and easier to load wood. I just cannot ignore those design features.
Forth - even though the water tank is not included with the NOMAD or Gstove, I prefer the Winnerwell water tank. Not only the design makes more sense to me. It has extra features the gstove one does not have, like the possibility of a side hang and occupying less space on the stove top. More space for cooking. Plus an attached lid so you dont loose it.
In the end the main reason for me, is that the Winnerwell NOMAD stove design is simply a better fit for what I do outdoors. I don’t need 2 stoves, so I am giving my gstove away to a friend. He will be happy
I will be making a full burn time test on the NOMAD stove as soon as temps drop below freezing, so keep an eye out for that.
Anyway hope you enjoyed this full test video of the NOMAD stove by Winnerwell and some accessories, again this is NOT a review. That will come with time and heavy use as usual.
