Whoopi Goldberg Presents Billy Connolly - 1989 standup comedy

This HBO Comedy Hour, Whoopi Goldberg Presents Billy Connolly, aired in late 1989, and was probably Billy Connolly's largest introduction to the United States to that point. A skit featuring the New York subway opens the show, then Whoopi introduces him with her own edgy and political standup, covering everything from race relations to Rudy Giuliani's marriage to his cousin. Connolly's standup is utterly hilarious, naughty, sophomoric, and insightful. I still laugh as hard as my first viewing three decades ago! HBO opener included for maximum nostalgia.
