The Harrisburg Diocesan Catechetical Conference will be virtual this year. All those who register will receive a link to join the conference live, as well as a recording of all the sessions.

On Pentecost, the Apostles experienced an outpouring of the Divine Fire of God the Holy Spirit and the Church was born. Whenever the Church celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation, the very mystery of Pentecost and the gifts and fruits of the same Spirit are present anew in the here and now.

A study of vices and virtues can be a catalyst for spiritual growth! Consequently this presentation examines the need to name and claim the reality of sin. The splendor of the virtues, the antidote to sin, will also be explored.

Why is it that so many people are turning to occult practices today? In many cases they may not even realize what it is they are truly dealing with. And so, what consequences, known or unknown, might be the result?

In order to help our young people become intentional disciples, we need to lead them to an encounter with the living Jesus. This encounter is facilitated by kerygmatic preaching which presents the true heart of the Gospel, especially through witnesses, and leads to meeting Christ in the sacraments. When young people experience this encounter it can be transformational for their whole lives.
3:05 PM – 3:35 PM – MRS. KATE PHENICIE, MA, THEOLOGY, DIRECTOR OF SPIRITUAL LIFE AT DELONE CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL – WISE BEYOND THEIR YEARS: YOUNG SAINTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY

This workshop will look at the lives of virtuous young saints: St. Therese of Lisiuex, St. Faustina, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Blessed Pier Georgio Frassati, and Blessed Chiara Badano. These five, who all achieved holiness before the age of 35, embody virtues and spiritual gifts that catechists can use to inspire and speak to the hearts of youth today.
