A jet ski fishing trip to Channel Island on the Yamaha Waverunner fishing jet ski. Launching in the morning from Kawakawa Bay boat ramp and cruising north into the outer Hauraki Gulf searching for work ups and fishing reefs with jigs catching Kingfish and Snapper. The weather was calm so I decided to keep on cruising into the outer hauraki gulf and went all the way to the top of the Coromandel to Channel Island where I found large schools of surface feeding Kahawai, and managed to mechanical jig for a big Kingfish from the jet ski. The Yamaha Waverunner travelled 155km distance on this trip and used 56L of fuel for the entire trip. This gives you an idea of the big adventures you can have when fishing from a jet ski with fuel economy like this.
