In the heart of the Poconos lie several Abandoned honeymoon resorts. Most of them have uncertain futures except for one.
The Summit Resort stands out to me for a couple of reasons. The lavish couples resort won't be around much longer as there are immediate plans to demolish the resort and build an entertainment/shopping village and medical center.
After 35yrs of operation the resort closed in September 2002 and has been left practically untouched ever since. Almost like a time capsule from the 60s-70s, most of the rooms are still fully furnished and the nightclub which has a dance floor, stage, and lighting looks as if it could reopen next week.
