1978 Y88 Trans Am for sale tight space Pre Purchase inspection Car Appraisal Detroit Mi 810-694-2008

Talk about a confined inspection environment! I did my best with the hand I was dealt on this Y88 Trans Am auto appraisal in Detroit.
This second Gen F body Trans Am is a very solid survivor with OEM red oxide floors peeking out through the worn thin spots of old undercoat, sporting solid rot-free original pinch welds and 1/4 splash panels. Except for shocks and stabilizer links, all OEM suspension components are still in place. Unrestored rear end housing showing some axle seal leakage. No obvious frame damage or compression is seen on any of the rail surfaces. Original brake lines, fuel lines, and clips.
Portions of the underbody and the exterior of the car that cannot be accessed in this two-car garage are assumed to be in a similar condition to the areas that were visible.
A well-survived interior exemplifies the low mileage shown on the odometer. The replacement carpet has dressed up the inside nicely. All options tested and lights tested appear to be in working condition, including inside and out.
Engine block shows a repaint with some updated paint applied to underhood brackets and ancillary components. The bay is otherwise unrestored. This number matching 400 cubic inch motor starts up nicely with no knocking or ticking and doesn’t appear to smoke black or blue. All fluids checked under hood were found to be in good condition, and up to proper levels.
The exterior paint and body show the most visible wear on this on this F body. Video reveals multiple door dings and paint wounds, along with some scuffing and minor physical body damage. No major issues of rot, although some spots are showing exterior rust. Age cracks were noted in the fire chicken On the hood.
