Wood beer Mug/Stein pallet project, cutting the staves and base

For this project we used 100% scrap skid wood that happens to be mostly really good usable oak or if you lucky rock or curly maple (but those are rare) if your unlucky they have poplar decks but oak runners or uprights (those will become a work bench later when i have enough of them so stay tuned)

Before starting this project we had to take apart and de-nail all the skids we wanted to use (I did most of that ahead of time as we only get 4-6 of this type of skid a week as a stock order from one supplier and not all are usable for anything other then firewood, so to save space and time I take most of these apart at work after work and bring them to my shop here when ever I can)

Had to plane down the selected wood, cut them to length, make the sled to cut them to size, then made a jig to cut the proper angle to form a circle with 12 sections.

The steins should (maybe) contain 1.15L or about 2 Pints and a bit of room for head. the staves came out really tight! the angle was dead on! and pressure alone would make it water tight but they will be glued with titebound III.

Not bad for a scrap ply wood table saw, the saw it self is from the 80's that someone left at our place long ago because they deemed it junk, it sat unused for years until we got the "lets make stuff" spar, the table top of the saw was plastic. this works well and is actually more accurate then my 1hp steel topped one. but that's at our other place and i never knew how to make a nice fence or how to adjust the crappy one that it came with but thats for later.
